Then answer these questions in your packet using complete sentences.

Many of the jobs or careers you have been looking into up to this point you cannot begin until you have graduated from high school and maybe also college.  But what if you want to begin earning some income now?  What can you do at your age to earn income?

 

Following is a list, for your own information, of some jobs that kids can do without being 16 years old.

You can even earn money while in high school-
 

When you have turned 16 you may consider applying at these 10 businesses voted to be the 10 best in “Seventeen” magazine.

Just keep in mind that the Illinois minimum wage is $6.50/hr. for workers over the age of 18 years.  It is $6.00/hr. for workers under the age of 18 years.  Worker’s permits may be issued to those wanting to work, but are under the age of 16 years.  These are available through the Plano High School (or any local high school) guidance office.  These rules do not apply for kids working in someone’s home or for a family business.
