You have been learning about some things you may like to buy and how to budget your money to meet your goals.  But, hold on a minute; just how are you going to make the money to achieve these things?  You will need to go to work.  Yes, someday it will happen to you, too.  You have a few things to consider before you make this considerable decision.  What do you like to do?  Can you make money doing it?  Can you make enough for both your needs and some of your wants?  What kind of preparation do you need to qualify for this job?  Where will you need to live to do this job?  What’s the difference between a job and a career?

Finding a career is a journey of discovery.  There are many options available to those prepared to take advantage of them.  Also, keep in mind that the average person will change jobs/careers as many as 10 times.

Take a moment to find out the latest trends in working.  Go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics at the Department of Labor to discover the value of an education, the hottest fields and learn how many hours people are working.  Visit the site at http://www.bls.gov/opub/working/page1a.htm and go through the Chartbook slideshow.
